I recently made mini meatballs for the Finster. She LOVED them and squished each one with her pointer finger before eating it. It is hard to find good proteins for new eaters, but this was a hit. I didn’t use egg to bind the ingredients and most of the ingredients were previously eaten by Finley so I wasn’t too concerned about allergies. Below is the recipe I followed (feel free to add additional items):
- 1 lb ground meat (turkey or beef are good)
- 4 oz pureed cooked carrots
- A few tablespoons of bread crumbs (I used the Italian Blend)
- Finely chopped onion
Preheat the oven to 375.
Mix all the ingredients together with your hand and roll into tiny balls (think the size of Spaghetti O’s meatballs), bake for about 20 minutes or until the balls are cooked through. Serve warm and freeze or refrigerate leftovers.
